Feelgood education news of the week. Congratulations, Ms. Zelaya, on receiving the first Thom Moran Bachelor's Degree Scholarship. Thank you, Rotary, for all the scholarships you awards to the future leaders of Belize. Education is the key.

Galen had their 20th Graduation Exercise this weekend. Congratulations, Eagles! Now, go out and change the world for the better. 

The National Women's Commission had their Outstanding Women's Awards this morning.  Congratulations to all the winners! Dr. Aird, Galen's Provost, was awarded Outstanding Woman of the Year. Wow!

Awesome news on the education front. Galen is teaming with CEMJC to establish the Galen Northern Campus.

Galen had their 19th Graduation Ceremony this morning.

Galen University is having 5 sessions in their Economic Summit over the next 2 weeks.  The first is tonight at 8pm, and the topic is Economic Recovery.  The 2nd is tomorrow night, and focuses on the tourism industry.  Shared on the Cayo Event Calendar.

Feelgood news of the month.  Galen had the scholarship ceremony, where 65 students received scholarships.  Thanks, Galen University!  Here's to a great school year.

"The Annual Galen University Scholarship Ceremony was held on September 13th, 2019 at Galen’s Central Farm Campus and celebrated the awarding of scholarships to 65 deserving students.  Each year this event gives a wonderful opportunity to recognize the success of our existing scholarship students continuing their educational journey as Galen Eagles, and to welcome new scholars into our Athletic, Academic and Professional scholarship programs.  Galen University’s scholarship program awards students between 40% to 100% of tuition cost covering up to 4 years to complete their Bachelor’s degree."

Galen University had their Anthropology Day at Falcon Field today, and it was a hit.  They educated, in a fun way, 100's of primary school students.  Thanks, Galen!

Galen University and Youth for Justice are teaming up for the "Youth Action Exhibition" that is being held under the theme “Snapshots of Sustainability, Culture, and Climate Justice” on Friday, November 24th, from 1 PM to 3:30 PM at The George Price Centre.

'This initiative created a space for young people to engage with each other on issues of community, culture, the climate crisis, and their dreams of sustainable and just futures. Youth were trained in participatory research and encouraged to become engaged scholars in their own communities and amplify their voices.'

Galen will start offering an MS in Development Studies starting in January of 2022.  They'll have an info session about it at noon on Friday, October 8th.

Cayo has another great, new mural now!  7 Galen University, Belize students painted it over the last week.  It's on West street, on the wall behind the BTL building.  It definitely makes some statements: Community is important. Education is the key. Protect the reef from drilling. and... Together we Stand, Divided we Fall.

The Ariel Rosado Foundation had their 6th annual memorial ride yesterday.  The Cayo section went from Galen to Belmopan..  They took a lot of pictures of the event.
