Feelgood news of the day.  Congratulations to all the graduates of United Evergreen and Belize Christian Academy!  Diana Shaw, the founder of the Child Development Foundation, was the guest speaker at the BCA graduation, and her speech was impressive and inspiring to everyone in attendance.  It was superb!  On to high school, and beyond.

Thanks, Belmopan City Online, for the great pictures.

The University of Belize had their Earth Day today, and the Protected Areas Conservation Trust was there to take some pictures of the event.  Lots of people showed up for the food, fun, and games.

BAS Earth Day Celebrations

BAS Earth Day Celebrations | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

The Belize Audubon Society really knows how to celebrate Earth Day.  They've launched a campaign to educate everyone about Belize's protected areas, they'll be doing cleanups, planting trees, showing movies on the subject, and they're having a video competition.  They've already visited Roaring Creek Nazarene School and United Evergreen Primary School, click to see their pictures, courtesy of Dirk Francisco.  Thanks, BAS, and happy Earth Month!

"In continuing to be a part of this world wide initiative, this April the Belize Audubon Society will once again embark on several activities in celebration of Earth Day.  In recognizing the importance of our environment, these events are vital and necessary tools for educating the general public about conservation and creating support in fostering responsible livelihoods for a sustainable and greener environment."
