Western Ballaz Host No Limit in Playoff Game 3 | Cayo Scoop!  The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

The Western Ballaz are hosting the No Limit this Friday.  If you wear your Western Ballaz shirt, or white shirt, entry is only $5.  The Benque Viejo Marching Band will be playing before the game.  Come cheer on the best team in the league.  They'll be travelling to San Pedro for a game against the Tiger Sharks, which will be on Sunday at 1:00pm.   


"WIN or GO HOME!!!  We brought it back home for our fans.  You can't miss this game on Friday.  Come early to be entertained by the 2014 National Band Fest Champion, Benque Viejo Marching Band, as they perform from 7:15 -8:00 on Friday."

Congratulations to the San Jose Succotz Marching Band!!!

 

"Organizers of Belize Band Fest 2012 have presented prizes to winning groups. The family event was held this year at the Santiago Ricalde Stadium in Corozal town. Corozal Community College Marching Band was voted the most popular marching band. Succotz Festival Drum Cops won the title of best uniformed marching band, while the Holy Redeemer Marching Band won the drum line competition. In the drum corps category, Delille Academy Marching Band from Dangriga won first place and took home four thousand dollars as prize. They also took home a trophy and individual medals. First runner up was the Sarteneja United Drum Corps while the second runner up was the Holy Redeemer Marching Band. In the Marching Band with Wind Instruments category, the top prize was captured by the defending champions, Succotz Festival Drum Corps. They took home six thousand dollars plus a trophy and individual medals. Second place was captured by the Corozal Community College Marching Band, while the third place winner is the Western Xunan Marching Band."

It's been a week, but another round of congratulations go out.  Congratulations to all that attended.  There were many winners across the divisions.  Read the full article to find out which teams won which divisions.

 

"The Succotz Festival Drum Corps successfully defended their title and returned as champions of the seventh edition of the annual Love FM Bandfest at the Santiago Ricalde Stadium in Corozal Town last Saturday, March 31.  With 14 wind musicians, 22 more with drums, cymbals and other percussion instruments and 17 majorettes under the direction of acting president of the band, Mr. Roberto Chan, the Succotz band won points for their energetic performance in the street parade.  Inside the stadium, their musical reportoire, their majorettes dancing and musicians manoeuvring in formation scored top marks to win the $6,000 first prize in the wind instrument category."
