I selected this article from Curatti written by Michael Brenner because it provides insights on the affect of digital marketing on consumers.

Understand digital marketing and avoid common mistakes

Dispelling Digital Marketing Myths

Effective marketing is not difficult -- it just takes a specific strategy. I agree that in order to best reach your audience you need to know what works and what does not.

Brenner explains what digital marketing means to your business and how to make it successful.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • It's good practice to consistently produce great content. Articles need to be quality, and grab the reader's attention.

  • A negative reaction online isn't always a bad thing to happen. Avoid trolls, but engage with those who are your loyal audience.

  • Digital marketing encompasses many different mediums from blogs to email, and more. Be sure your content in these places is relevant to your target market.

The old school marketing method: the real “word of mouth” “ face to face” is still simply the best - we just need to improve on it and find more innovative ways to deliver messages that way. Technology is just gearing slowly away from it.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Mark Preston because he explains the meaning of blogging SEO, and how this applies to visibility.

Useful tips that will greatly improve your business content strategy.

How Your Blog Can Rank High on Google

Your business or personal blog can be used to attract a targeted audience for better search engine rankings. I agree that understanding how this process works will enable you to produce better content that Google will take notice of.

Preston explains how your social network and shares can build a strong presence online.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • A blog strategy focused on SEO is different from inbound marketing. The results are much slower with the latter and focus only on the website.

  • Bloggers who post at least 15 times a month may receive the most traffic, but not the most in quality. It is better focus on one outstanding piece per week.

  • The length of a blog post should be as long as it needs to be depending on the topic. This can range anywhere from 300 words to 5,000 words.

This article on Curatti written by Jan Gordon features Part One of the best our contributing writers in 2016.

Here's what's highlighted

Since our launch 3 years ago, Curatti has evolved into a crowd-sourced blog. Was this intended? Probably not! But it’s quite a journey, and one that we lightly guide , but ultimately go along with.

In any given week, we will get several inquiries by potential new guest bloggers. There are also no shortage of requests for us to curate around great Infographics – something we’ve also been happy to bring to our readers.

Ultimately, the way we have evolved, we owe a debt of gratitude to each and every one of our contributors and supporters. Let’s not forget all of the great writers who gave us permission to republish their articles. The list of those names reads like a who’s who of established thought leaders, and will be published at the end of this retrospective series.

For now, we will present you with excerpts from one article by each contributor who has posted 2 or more articles this year. There are so many, we must break this into 3 parts.

Before and after each excerpt, you’ll find links so that you can read the rest of the article, if you desire. Some very interesting and helpful stuff here!

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jenn Herman because it covers how to attract more subscribers through social media.

Use social media to increase your email subscribers and influence.

How Email Goes Hand-in-Hand with Your Marketing

If you run a blog then you know how important it is to build a large list of subscribers. I agree that in order to reach more people you should include social media in your strategy.

Herman explains several ways to leverage your community and attract more subscribers.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Include a message and optin on your Facebook profile on your Page. Use a professional, eye-catching image and profile photo to attract attention.

  • Take advantage of live video and attract an audience in real-time. Be sure to include a strong call-to-action at the end of your broadcast.

  • Host a contest or giveaway with a dedicated sign-up page that directs your social media community to your website. Include beautiful images and/or videos to make your message stand out.
