Florida Virtual School is to be commended for the access to online classes they provide to any student, including homeschoolers, at no cost to those who are Florida residents. This must be a great help to homeschoolers, particularly at the high school level. Unfortunately, not all states are as progressive. NC, for one, also has a state, taxpayer-funded virtual school (NCVPS), but despite all the lip service about providing the best education to all NC students, NCVPS is not open to homeschoolers. Get with it, Governor Perdue. 21st Century education is about open access, not punitive restrictions.
