5 Ways to Know if Your Branded Content Idea Is Good [infographic] | Information Technology & Social Media News | Scoop.it

When you're in a great brainstorm meeting and the creative juices are flowing, it's easy to get carried away. Before you know it, you're pitching ideas about cats in tuxedos and wondering if there's any room in your video budget for a Michael Bay-style explosion. And while that all sounds great in the room, those ideas may not get you the results you really want. Effective branded content is created strategically with the intent to serve your brand's goals. Next time a light bulb goes off, ask yourself these 5 questions to find out if your branded content idea is really that good.

Jean Schiller - You're preaching to the choir, companies have all the social intelligence tools and technology to accomplish this. They need to be informed - investing in marketing is the old way of doing business. Investing in people to communicate your message is the new way.
Russ Merz, Ph.D.'s comment September 7, 2013 8:38 PM
Scalability only works with very standardized and repeatable product/services. If you are a customized job shop the scalability of direct SME interaction is limited and ultimately a money losing proposition, unless you bill for it. Think about legal or medical practices where every interaction is likely to be unique.

Knowing the questions to ask is the method I always think is smartest, the questions are:

What does the brand stand for?

Why was the name chosen?

What's the business story?

What's specific about this business?

What's the brand’s personality?

I am thinking of a new Logo for one of my blogs, we shall see what develops for blog branding. I'm excited to consider replacing my picture.

Like all new technology, social media changes fast.

Just trying to keep your head around all of the different platforms, how to approach them and, of course, how to design for them can be a full time job.

Social media has proven itself as a crucial component of a brand’s marketing mix, but with the many different platforms, it can be very difficult to put forth a consistent brand image online.

The [Ridiculously Exhausitive] Social Media Design Blueprint features all of the major design dimensions for all of the major platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIN, YouTube, Pinterest and the most recent entry, Instagram.

Save The World Marketing Is Here!

Embrace Save The World Marketing
In a social mobile and connected time for profit companies should learn emotional storytelling from nonprofits. Nonprofits should learn viral marketing and SEO from their for profit cousins.

Save The World Marketing is a "new altruism" that is sweeping across social media. Companies and brands that embrace Save The World marketing create an emotional connection with customers via authentic stories and social media.

Every enterprise is saving the world in some interesting way. Telling that story or finding partners who can help tell a company's "save the world" story should be a top priority for senior managers and small to medium sized businesses (SMBs).

I totally agree with this article. I think that mobil phones are defiantly a huge part of todays marketing. I know for a fact that i am constantly looking at new apps to download and use. With the majority of people today using iPhones, its such a easy way to quickly check your bank account, or find out what time the bus comes by simply downloading a app to help you. I think its really important that brands look into developing apps for phones if they want to keep up with the changes in the social media.

I agree with both your points Nick and Charlotte. Mobile Marketing is definitely the new way to engage consumers especially with the rapid change in technology especially that of smart phones. Its definitely the most effective way to contact your target consumer as with the use of apps its up to the consumer to download it. I'm the same as you Charlotte, I am always looking for new apps to download and use so I think it is really important the business look into Mobile Marketing to keep up with the changing environments.

How to Brand Your Product. Is branding good for your business?

How to Brand Your Product. Is branding good for your business? | Information Technology & Social Media News | Scoop.it

The establishment and protection of a good brand name doesn't come cheap, but the equity value of a good brand name can be worth many times more than the annual earnings of the business itself.

Developing and building any new brand is time consuming and very expensive. Your competitors will be only too happy to ride on your success if you allow them.

To prevent this, you must protect your brands, slogans and logos from the very moment that you decide to use them. That means doing so even before you introduce your brands to the world. This protection is vital.
