Corporate Learning Needs to Step Up its Game and Measure Results

Corporate Learning Needs to Step Up its Game and Measure Results | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

“...most corporate learning strategies have roots in traditional learning approaches. It is critical that new learning departs from these approaches and we increase self-direction for all employees, especially those who are new to the workforce.”

The pace of change demands continual learning. A course here or a course there won't cut it. As technologies for immediate/micro-learning, artificial/augmented intelligence, gamification, and personalization options mature, it will be increasingly important to measure what works rather than just rolling out the latest technology.

Future of Work: Using Gamification in the HR

Future of Work: Using Gamification in the HR | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
Gallup’s latest research shows why companies are increasing their interest in gamification. The Gallup study finds 31% of employees are engaged at work (51% are disengaged and 17.5% actively disengaged). But what is most interesting is how this data compares when you apply a generational segmentation. It turns out Millennials are the least engaged generation with only 28.9% engaged as compared to 32.9% for Gen X & Boomers.

So how can various processes in human resources be “gamified” to provide an opportunity for employees across the generations to increase their levels of engagement, collaboration and recognition in the workplace?

#HR #Gamification Game On! #Leadership Lessons Learned From Famous Coaches

#HR #Gamification Game On! #Leadership Lessons Learned From Famous Coaches | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
We know that behind most of these athletes is a highly effective coach. While the athlete is the one who ultimately performs, the coach was undoubtedly there to help facilitate the journey.

There’s a nice analogy here to education, since at a fundamental level, coaches and teachers are trying to do the same thing: help young people realize their full potential. So as we start a new school year, what can we learn from the practices of highly effective coaches?

SIX LESSONS FROM THE PLAYING FIELD
1. Effective coaches develop themselves as well as their athletes. Effective coaches are quick to analyze how their coaching influences their athletes’ success. They constantly make adjustments to their training programs based on what their athletes need at that particular moment in time.

As a teacher, are you regularly assessing your own practice and making adjustments as needed?

#HR #RRHH What the Heck is... #Gamification?

#HR #RRHH What the Heck is... #Gamification? | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

In simple terms, gamification means applying some of the features we enjoy in video games to businesses, or indeed to any non-game-related area. The rationale is that people love playing games; they lose themselves in them for hours on end.

So what makes games so appealing and how could we use this for business? What games offer people, and many real world situations don’t, is this intense competitive environment with constant challenges of trying to move to a new level and complete the next mission, where players get instant feedback, reward, collect points and badges, move up rankings, and see their status increase.

Move over children, now it’s time for grown-ups and business leaders to play! The new buzzword is ‘Gamification’, and apparently it is no child’s play. We increasingly hear the term gamification.

Sounds like it's fun.  Adoption in your business isn't quite as easy as with 1st graders at recess.

Thank You Economy or Arrogance, Which Is Better?

Thank You Economy or Arrogance, Which Is Better? | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Arrogance seems a consistent tactic in the uber-hot gamification segment. "Uber-hot" and arrogance seem to go together like hand in glove, but perhaps arrogance is a the most sustainable strategy.

Arrogance feels cheaper than the Thank You economy's endless give. This piece explores the question of if arrogance is sustainable. What do you think? Where do you come out on the Arrogance or Thank You debate.

As teacher in development, we should take advantage of all these tools since they contribute us to turn traditional pedagogy into didactic classes. Nowdays, students are very familiarize with app, virtual games, we can implement them as another way to learn. Besides, it is very interesting how many advantages this method brings to the learners and teachers.

Great outline of game-based learning. It defines it, talks about implementation, and the benefits. An excellent article to show someone who is new to the concept.
