A person who is sexy is defined to have attractive qualities. For many people and especially celebrities, being alluring and exciting comes as a result of wearing limited clothing; a short pants where their butt cheeks are peeping, a see through top; and extensive make-up (or so it seems to me), plastic surgery and photoshop. Proof is found in their music videos, advertisements and photos that they post online. Sexy is the term we give to one who has a 6 pack abs, a sculpted or toned legs and arms and a big bubble butt. Proof is in our obsession with fitness gurus, Victoria Secret models and the need to hit the gym everyday because we want to be like them…sexy! My question to you is-why can’t sexy be one who wears a long pants, a turtle neck long sleeve top, wears glasses and ties her hair instead of letting it flow? Why can’t sexy be one with imperfections such as acne, freckles and stretch marks? After all, these are natural beauty marks. And why can’t sexy be a woman with a little more meat on their skin? Many thick-and I use that term loosely- women are naturally built bigger than others and are quiet healthy and fit. Yet many judging people out there will not recognise this. They mindlessly believe, you’re thick therefore you’re fat. And apparently one must not be fat. Take for example a Victoria Secret Model. Why are all their models size 0 models? Because people tune in to watch lingerie on toned bodies. Now, don’t get me wrong…I am all for being the healthiest me. I workout out and I eat healthy. However, I do not consider myself to be hypocritical in this blog. Whilst I exercise and try to eat healthy, I do that for myself…to feel good and to live a long healthy life. I do not engage in those healthy activities to look ‘good’ or ‘sexy’ for others. Nothing is wrong with wanting to be healthy and fit. But it should be done for yourself and not because celebrities and models and magazines say that you should look a certain way because that way is what is ‘sexy.’ I recognise that beautiful and sexy can be found in persons of all body types and I find many persons who are not of the stereotypical sexy individuals quite appealing. I impatiently await the era where sexy can be everyone. Fat, skinny, white, black, brown, a person with acne, a person with “flawless” skin. I wait for the time when the world can be a fair audience to their fellow species, accept them as they are and pass pleasant comments on their appearance, give everyone a chance without judging and pointing out so called imperfections. And I wait for the days when natural beauty will be appreciated more than enhanced bodies. The 3 Steps To Skinny Legs Program free download.
